Introduction

This document describes the use of the KMAP-API service. KMAP is the proprietary knowledge base of TenWise and contains millions of biological relations obtained from the scientific literature. API stands for Applied Programming Interface. With an API, users can write dedicated scripts in e.g. Python and R to retrieve and analyze data from the KMAP database.

This document has a number of examples in which the use of the API is shown in Python scripts. In addition, the full documentation for the indiviual methods of the API is provided.

Access

To access the database and use the API, you need an APIkey. This is a code that needs to used in the scripts and send to the server each time an API request is done. Please contact us at kmine@tenwise.nl for getting a trial API-key.
